Laying down in the long grass hiding in the field away from everyone and everything, the sun beating down on her face, back and arms. She was wearing a blood red bikini top and black shorts. Her bag was under her head and her hair tossed all over the place. Inside her bag was everything she needed smokes, music, a hoodie, some E, water, money and other things she deemed necessary for the day. Her head phones in blaring Wings of a Butterfly by HIM drowning out everything. She took a drag of her smoke inhaled it and exhaled the rest of it. Looking up at the bright blue sky and the fluffy white clouds it was such a beautiful day to be outside. It's nice to be alone but i think meeting someone would be nice, i'm basically new here. I need atleast one person i can semi get along with. She takes another drag of her smoke and changes the song to Fences by Paramore, she starts to hum to it.

Being new around the Hideout was boring. Heather had set off for no apparent reason, and felt like exploring. She was wearing the same outfit she had on earlier that day. Brown bootcuts made of hemp and a green tank top. The only thing different being the fact that her beige bandanna was out of her hair and tied around her thigh. The fringe of the bangs on her brown, viciously curly, near waist length hair hung in her face and was much an annoyance. She was walking around the long grass in the Field. The sunny day had not faded, so the hippie kid Heather was, was walking barefoot, sandals in hand. She didn't get far until she smelled cigarette smoke. The girl wrinkled her nose and picked her way along the tall grass until she stumbled upon a girl..The cause of the smoke she was smelling. The girl had head phones in her ears and was humming along to the music. Heather had her guitar with her, and was surprised that the racket she was making while walking through the grass isn't cause the girl to turn. Of course, the music WAS blaring..
Heather sat down next to the girl, not meaning to scare her if she did. Removing her special edition Humming Bird Acoustic from its case, she began to pick a mellow tune, waiting for the girl to take off her head phones, hopefully talk to her. As she waited, she randomly looked at the sky, smiling at the clouds. Heather would not sing today, she would only play. Besides, her voice felt like shit, and she had probably given the poor girl a heart attack, therefore, there was no need to make any more noise until she was acknowledged.

Adelaide could feel her face beginning to get burnt:Damn pale skin i swear if i get burnt again i'm never going back out unless it's cloudy or summer is over. Her song just ended and in between songs she could hear soft strumming of a guitar, she turned onto her stomach and say a girl sitting next to her playing. She took out her headphones and turned her MP3 player off. Ummm hi? when did you get here?
She took the last puff off her smoke and snubbed it off into the ground. She looked at the girl bent over her guitar playing some random song, her hair falling into her face. The first think Adelaide noticed about this girl was her long curly hair, which seemed almost as wild as she did. Adelaide wiggled her toes and stretched out then relaxed losing herself in the music.

Heather's playing was interrupted by a voice. She shook her head back, bringing that tangle of curls back with her. It has always fell into her face while she was playing, it never failed. The girl laughed and answered the stranger's question.
"To tell you the truth, I was bored. I could smell you cigarette, so I happened upon you and took a seat." She felt awkward meeting so many different people in her one day of residing at the Hideout, but that was ok. "Apparently, I'm 'new'. So really, I'm going to familiarize every face around here that I can. I also didn't want to interrupt your music, so I sat and waited..Sorry if I scared you."
Heather shrugged, looking at the girl over her black plastic framed glasses, her sarcastic smirk showing on her face. Sadly, Heather never really meant for the smirk to look sarcastic in any way, but that's what it turned out to be, and she sure as hell wasn't going to watch herself on something she constantly did. Well, it wasn't so much constantly as much as it was inadvertent. She never noticed it. It never offended though, so Monty was sure that this girl wouldn't mind her overall appearance or facial expression. The girl was pretty. Her outfit a little on the skimpier side for Heather's taste, but hey, whatever worked. She had the body to pull it off at least. Heather supposed that she could wear a bikini top, but decided against it every time. It was just something about her skin getting burnt that swayed her.
"I'm Heather." She said with a smile. After introducing herself, she continued to play her music. It was always relaxing to hear an acoustic played well. Her Humming Bird was one beautiful instrument too, so everything was a bonus. Monty's vivid blue eyes noticed the girl getting almost lost in the tune she was playing. It wasn't even a song..Just something Heather was coming up with off the top of her head. But hey, she took it as a compliment. Improvised music was always the best kind anyway.

"Well i'm new here too my name is Adelaide but i also go by Ade."
Adelaide sat up and threw her hoddie on she normally didn't wear clothing like this unless she was alone which was was expecting. Adelaide turned her attention to Heather's strumming on her accoustic guitar, so unpredictable but beautiful. It must be something she's comming up with the top of her head but the way she plays so confident, that she makes it sound like something already writtenShe thought to herself.
She bit on her lip stud as her bright blue eyes started to water up in one swift movement she wiped her eyes hoping that Heather didn't see. The last thing she needed was some to know she was weak and cried when someone played the guitar.
"Thats such a beautiful accoustic guitar. My boyfriend used to play, he was in a band called Breeching Vista. He taught me quite a few of their songs i didn't learn anything else afterward. Can i play? Or is it just like special to you?

Heather noted the girl wiping away a tear from the corner of her eye. She had introduced herself as Adelaide. Heather decided that she would call her by her full name, for it was pretty and sounded nice when the girl said it herself. For a moment, Heather wondered why Adelaide was crying because of her guitar, but didn't want to embarrass her by asking, or even let her know that she saw. And then, she was listening to the new girl talk of her boyfriend. He played in a band that sounded slightly familiar to Monty, but she couldn't quite place it. Ade then asked her if she could play the Humming Bird. Upon hearing this question, Heather had to put some thought into her answer. She had never let anyone else play her guitar before. The girl herself did say she would understand if the guitar was special to Heather, but she didn't want to be mean. Plucking out the last few bars of her little made up tune, Heather smiled and pulled her long hair away from her face with her strumming hand. She then held the guitar out by the neck, waiting for Adelaide to take the instrument.
"I also go by Heath, and Monty." The girl said, making small talk while she waited for Ade to take the guitar. "And sure you can play, I'd like to hear the songs. Do you sing too?" Monty's head tilted to the side when she asked the question, her eyes narrowing slightly., She liked to hear people sing, so it would be nice if Ade had a voice on her to go along with the guitar playing. If this wasn't the case, Heather would learn the lyrics and sing for her. To be honest, the girl was sort of gifted, had been singing for as long as she could remember. Her voice wasn't a train wreck, but it wasn't the most amazing thing going either. After all, she was only seventeen, her voice would mature and get better with age..Almost like wine. Before long though, someday, Heather didn't know when; but her voice would be gone. Perhaps when she got older, and if not then, definitely when she had died.
So there she sat, holding out her most prized possession to a girl she had happened upon because of a cigarette. It was funny. Not funny 'ha ha'..More 'funny strange'. Though, Heather never had any problems getting to know people, or making friends. She was warm hearted, seemed almost too warm hearted. That quality made people open up, and what wouldn't Heather do for people to be a little more happy in this world? It was no crime.

And sure you can play, I'd like to hear the songs. Do you sing too?
Ya i sing a bit, i only know some songs by Breeching Vista off by heart. I've been told i'm good it's just the song i decide to sing has to match my mood. Adelaide took the guitar and started to strum the intro of Revery by Breeching Vista and messed up on one of the first few bars. God it's been awhile since i actually picked up a guitar and played it. Two years ago when.... She bent her head and her hair tumbled into her face, she pushed it back behind her ears and started to play again. She started to sing:It feels like i'm driven on top of this world somewhere, everythings happening so fast i'm so scared and I've Never felt so unprepared at all.And all these memories turning blank pages i've torn. Adelaide's voice started to cut out but she kept strumming the song. For some reason she felt like she could trust Heather but she wasn't ready to tell anyone about her past just quite yet unless they asked her.

Heather watched as the other girl took her guitar, placing it in her lap, and telling her that she does infact sing a bit. Heather's interest peaked at the chance to hear another's playing and singing, but could tell the girl was nervous. Her fingers seemed to shake before she started to pluck and strum the guitar. So either, she hadn't played in awhile, or the song held a memory, some sort of memory that brought out the timid side of her in fear of people judging her. Then the girl messed up a chord. She seemed embarrassed, but Heather smiled apologetically"Don't worry about it." she said when Adelaide gave her an explanation for her mess up. "Sometimes you get a little rusty. It sounds fine so far! And there's no need to be nervous. Remember hun, I'm no critic."
Monty smiled, her bright blue eyes dancing behind her glasses as Ade started to sing. Her voice was decent. Untrained, but decent. The lyrics of the tune were nice too, very heart felt. Heather watched her play and swept her near waist length curls over her left shoulder, grabbing a strand and twisting the ringlet around her finger as she listened with interest. After the first part of the song though, Adelaide's voice seemed to be cutting out for whatever reason. Possibly because she hadn't sung for awhile, or again, there could be that memory, that reminder of some sort.
As Ade continued to play, Heather's face showed the thoughtfulness, the fact that her mind was racing. Adelaide seemed like a very open person, but the girl must have some history about her. Such a shame that people in this place had run from their past lives for one reason or another; herself included. Though, Heather figured that, as with herself, these people were 'glad' they had left. Or maybe they regretted it? Why regret? Monty was never one to regret. She just didn't have the time. Some people called her mean for it, because the girl was a very blunt person, blunt to the point of sounding hostile. Her friends learned her ways though. Heather just said what always needed to be said, simple as that..Though, there was something about asking Adelaide what was up that she was hesitating about. Instead of stating the obvious, Heather made light conversation while the girl was playing but not singing.
"See? It's like riding a bike..You never forget how to play.."

See? It’s Like riding a bike.. you never forget to play..
As Adelaide strummed the melody of Reverie, Heather’s voice intruded her thoughts. Thoughts of the past, present and the future maybe here she could find a place to belong and a few good friends. Her hair fell into her face once again but she kept strumming. “Yea I guess your right, it’s just some people are better off not to play.” Adelaide sighed and started to sing again: “I’m ready for everything that’s coming my way cause it’s not a lot and I will leave her today.” She played the ending of the song then handed the guitar over to Heather. Adelaide looked at Heather’s bright blue eyes, similar to her own but Heather’s seemed to dance with a vibrant light of adventure and of someone who doesn’t care what people think. “Sorry that song sounds a lot better when it’s a guy singing it, especially John. He wrote it for me when I was having trouble with life in general. God he was my rock, Maybe you would know who I’m talking about. He was the lead singer of Breeching Vista till he got in a car accident and…..” Adelaide took out another smoke and lit it up. Cigarettes has always been her release ever since she started smoking when she was 14, if she didn’t have something to cut with or was around people she turned to smoking. She took a long drag off her smoke and let it out. She fell back into the long soft grass and looked up at the bright blue sky a few white clouds pushed their way their way through the sky.

Heather's glasses had been removed moments ago. She cleaned them absentmindedly against her tanktop, but kept her eyes on the slightly blurred figure of Adelaide. Such a pretty girl, but so troubled. Listening to the words of the song again, Heather smirked. The lyrics were nice, and were definitely something she could relate to. When Ade finished playing, Heather reached out to take the Humming Bird back, and stayed silent as Adelaide spoke again. She talked about the singing, it would be better with a male voice. And then, she spoke of this John character. Her rock. As Adelaide's voice trailed off Heather could only guess that this car accident was fatal or had left John with many physical scars, as well as emotional scars upon himself, his friends, and Adelaide. Monty vaguely thought of her 'rock'. After a moment or so, she came to the conclusion that she didn't have one. So was she missing out?
The girl's electric blue eyes followed Ade's next action. Lighting a cigarette and laying back in the sweet grass that grew in the field. It wasn't regular field grass, the straw kind that cut your legs when you wanted to run through it, or ride a horse through it, or whatever. It was the lush green kind, sweet smelling and soft. The girl sighed and said to Ade jokingly "You know, smoking is a nasty habit to shake." Heather winked and returned her glasses to her face, shaking her wild hair back as she did. She would continue to jam, make songs up for Adelaide. Monty guessed that the guitar made her happy, so it was nice to do something that benefited the world for once.
She started out by strumming a B minor, and then plucked at the guitar expertly, making up an instrumental as she went. It wasn't so mellow as the last song she played. It was more..Tragic. Heather listened to her own playing, reminding herself to scribble down these chords, strumming and plucking patterns in the notebook she kept in her guitar case. It would be good to write off of some day.
As she played, she did not sing, but instead looked over at Adelaide and spoke, responding to her statement she made moments ago. "Sorry to say, I don't know the guy, but I may have heard of the band. I'm sorry about whatever happened though, if it means anything by my saying that."
Adelaide was watching the clouds, smoking her cigarette. Heather decided to stay silent and wait for her response. The guitarist closed her eyes, humming along to the dark tune she was playing.

“Sorry to say. I don’t know the guy, but I may have heard of the band. I’m sorry about whatever happened though, if it means anything by saying that.”
Adelaide took another long drag of her smoke and held it in, held it till she had to let go or she’d faint. Fainting in front of someone new might not be a good thing to do right at this moment, it’s not like she fainted all the time but occasionally when she’s being stupid with drugs or cutting she’s gone. Fainting is like leaving this world full of troubles, stress and worry being totally completely free. She looks over at Heather and takes one last drag off her smoke, then snubbed it out. Adelaide’s bright blue eyes started to dance with amusement at the idea that just popped into her head. “Heather I have an idea do you trust me enough to leave your stuff here??” Adelaide’s eyes scanned the field and where the field hit the tree line of the forest and she gathered up all her stuff into her bag. She stood up and threw her bag onto the ground and offers Heather her hand. “Come on take my hand and trust me I want to have some fun after that depressing moment.” Adelaide’s bright eyes twinkled and a huge grin had replaced that frown that was on her face only seconds ago. Her body seemed to be vibrant with energy that was so contagious you couldn’t help but smile when you looked at her when she was like this.
